Flowers may be delivered to the St. Joseph Center at 11700 Duley Station RD, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772 beginning at 9:00am the day of the Funeral or Memorial Service. After the service, the funeral home or family members are kindly asked to remove the flowers from the Church.

Receptions/Repast:

Most Holy Rosary does not have a space available for receptions/repast.

Music:

Family members will choose appropriate liturgical music for the funeral. Because a funeral is an act of worship, only sacred music is appropriate. This excludes the use of popular music, show tunes, and, often, patriotic music. The family will have to select an entrance hymn, a preparation hymn, a communion hymn and a recessional hymn. A list for hymnals is attached.

Most Holy Rosary does not have a cantor/musician to assist on our funeral masses. The family may find a cantor/musician of their choice for the service. Any fee for the cantor/musician selected by the family must be arranged directly with the cantor/musician. You may also contact Amy Lloyd, a cantor that has done funeral services in the past at Most Holy Rosary. You can find the information of Amy Lloyd below.

Amy Lloyd: amy@amylloydmusic.com

Program:

The family is responsible for making/printing the program and music for the service, you will find a sample below.

Funeral Mass Live streaming:

Live streaming of the funeral Mass is available at the request of the family. Visit www.mostholyrosarychurch.org to see our Mass live streaming and social media platforms.

Words of Remembrance/Eulogy:

Some families wish to have a family member or friend offer words of remembrance in honor of the person who has died. This is best done at the funeral home during the vigil/visitation service or before the closing prayer at the end of the Mass.

Donations:

A donation at the time of the Funeral or Memorial may be given directly to the parish. A suggested offering of $300.00 is greatly appreciated to help defray the cost of utilities and staff.

Readings:

Click the button below to see the approved readings for funerals, please select one readings from the old testament, one psalm, one reading from the new testament and a gospel. The family will have to select two members of their family to read the first and second reading, if there is no cantor to sign the psalm one of the readers will have to read the psalm. The Gospel is proclaimed by the celebrant priest.
